The city of Temple City will hold an election on March 5th, 2013. Two council seats are currently up for contest.
Prospective candidates will have until next Friday, December 7th, to file their nomination papers.
In order to be eligible to apply for a position in the City Council, individuals must be at least 18 years old and must have to have been a resident of Temple City for at least one year. They must also gather 20 signatures prior filing.
A 30 to 45- minute appointment is also required to pull nomination papers.
City Clerk Peggy Kuo, advises prospective candidates to “schedule an appointment by calling the City Clerk’s office, prior filing.”
However, filling these requirements will not be decisive of one’s eligibility. The City Clerk will determine whether a candidate is qualified to run.
