Summer is just around the corner. For most students, it will be a time of fun and excitement, but for a number of incoming juniors and seniors, it will be a time of intense SAT practice and summer work for Advanced Placement classes. Whether you want to study the summer away or just hang out with friends, there are many hotspots around Temple City to go.
For the bookworms who will be studying all summer, Tea Station, C Cup, Starbucks, and CaféRoulé provide the perfect work environment. During those hot summer days, save some electricity by going to these places, all conveniently located on Las Tunas Drive, to study away from the distractions of home in an air conditioned environment. Bring your laptops because they all offer free Wi-Fi.
If you’re craving some frozen yogurt, head over to C Cup, Cloverleaf, Yogurtland, or Nubi. They all have a variety of delicious flavors to choose from. C Cup and Cloverleaf are on Las Tunas; Yogurtland is located in the plaza near the northeast corner of the Baldwin Ave and Duarte Rd intersection; Nubi is located next to The Cheesecake Factory at the Santa Anita mall in Arcadia.
If you just want to hang out with your friends, the Santa Anita mall in Arcadia would be the ideal place for that. Watch the latest movies at the AMC Theater located on the Second floor. The food court offers a variety of food ranging from Sushi to Mongolian BBQ. Try the mouthwatering flavored french fries at Potato Corner or grab some cream puffs at Beard Papa, both located on the second floor. Catch up with the latest fashion trends by doing some shopping at the hottest stores such as Forever 21, Vans, Pacsun, and many more.
To finish off the day, enjoy some free music at the Concerts in the Park at Temple City Park on Wednesday nights from 7-9pm, from June 22 to August 24, where there will be 50/50 raffles and many giveaways. Pre-concert activities will begin at 6:30 pm, so bring the family and some lawn chairs and enjoy the night.
