As graduation approaches, the soon to be graduating Temple City High School seniors on Friday kicked off their final week of high school.
“Everything just went by really quickly,” Jimmy Du, a graduating senior, said. “It’s kind of hard to grasp the fact that we’re about to graduate.”
The incoming freshman at Stanford University added, “At the moment, everything is still kind of normal. We’re still going to school.”
Du, along with his fellow classmates, started their final examinations on Friday, June 11. Testing will continue on Monday and conclude Tuesday. After that, the only remaining task will be practice for the graduation ceremony.
Still, there remains an important program before graduation: the Baccalaureate.
The Baccalaureate, a nondenominational program, gives seniors an opportunity to listen to their fellow classmates. The program begins Sunday, June 13 at 3 p.m. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Temple City.
Then, on Friday, June 18, the 2010 graduation ceremony will take place. Commencement is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at North Field, Temple City High School.
Following the ceremony is the 17th annual Grad Nite. This year’s theme is “Senior Safari Wild Adventures”.
“It feels like one chapter of my life is ending and another is starting,” Du said.
